Commitment to philanthropy is a reflection of our core values at Helzberg Diamonds. We believe it’s important to give back to our communities and make a positive impact on others. With a long legacy in philanthropy, we’ve also been a national sponsor of Make-A-Wish since 2009, raising more than $1.5 million for the initiative to date. Here’s a bit about the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the many ways we support the organization’s efforts.
the magic of Make-A-Wish
Founded by a group of volunteers in 1980, Make-A-Wish is a nonprofit organization that grants the wishes of children with critical illnesses. The first wish was granted to a 7-year-old boy who wanted to be a police officer. Over the years, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has changed lives, sending children and their families to Disney World, helping them meet their favorite celebrities or connecting them with local businesses for shopping sprees.
Both through our jewelry business and our 501c3 organization Helzberg Helps, we help spread love for Make-A-Wish, too. We believe every child deserves to have their wishes come true. A few ways we help the Make-A-Wish Foundation include:
• Bubble Ball for Wishes Sake: In March 2023, Helzberg Diamonds and Hallmark held a signature event for the Kansas and Missouri Make-A-Wish chapter. Held in the Kansas City Chiefs’ stadium, the event featured a fashion show with one-of-a-kind creations composed of bubble wrap, inspired by local wish kids’ favorite things.
• Grants to the organization: We raise funds to give money to local chapters so they can make more dreams come true for critically ill children and their families.
• I Am LovedⓇ: The I Am Loved Make-A-Wish bear is a symbol of love and hope. It is a reminder that even in the most difficult of times, there is always someone who loves you. The bear is also a reminder that wishes can come true. For every limited edition I Am Loved bear sold, Helzberg Diamonds donates $7 to Make-A-Wish.
